The movie “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, was created with a vast amount of work and details carefully put in. Just by the colorful introduction, it can already be noted that the whole movie has been given a lot of thought and effort. The plot of the movie was complicated in a way that every information was important and came into place at the end (Like how the Prowler was actually Uncle Aaron). The structure of the movie although is worthy enough to be explained bit by bit.
The exposition of the movie starts out with Miles Morales going to his new school, Brooklyn Visions Academy (that he was accepted into with the help of a lottery) and starting his education there. He reluctantly goes to his new school and realizes how much he does not fit in with the crowd. One day when he needed a break from everything that was going on, he snuck out of his dorm room and went off campus to Uncle Aaron’s house. There he and his uncle decide to relieve Miles of everything that was on his mind by going out and spray painting in an abandoned area that his uncle has recently found.
The rising action begins after they have finished spray painting Miles’ mural. As Miles observes his art, a radioactive spider that has been crawling around, crawls up Miles and lands on his hand, where it bites Miles and gives him Spider powers which includes enhanced strength and speed, Spider-sense, invisibility, and venom-strike
The climax happens when Spider-Man (Miles) accidentally finds out that the Prowler, is actually Uncle Aaron. The Prowler spots spider-Man eavesdropping on his conversation with kingpin and starts to chase Spider-Man around New York City. When the prowler catches a hold of Spider-Man and is about to give him his final blow, Miles decides to reveal himself under the mask. This makes the Prowler stop in his own tracks and remove his own mask- showing that the Prowler is indeed Uncle Aaron. Shortly after, Kingpin shoots Uncle Aaron causing his untimely death. Miles carries him to an alleyway where officer Jefferson finds his brother Aaron, dead.
The falling action is when Miles’ dad talks to Miles outside of his dorm room. Telling him the news of Uncle Aaron’s passing and opening up about the relationship between them. He also talks about the father-son bond that they have and how important it actually is. He tells Miles that he sees something in him that makes him know that he will go far in life. This boosts Miles’ confidence and gives him the motivation he’s always needed to become Spider-Man.
The resolution happens when all the Spider-Man’s are fighting alongside each other to defeat Kingpins henchmen. A while after, Miles was able to plug in the goober and close the portal. This makes all the Spider-Man’s to go back through the portal and go back to their original universe. This includes Peter B. Parker, who has promised that he would return home and become a better man–a better Spider-Man.
